A NEW SMOOTH PEARL YIELDS 7 PERCENT MORE THAN CALORO IN STATEWIDE TRIALS

This variety will be certified in 1971, and 80 acres grown for seed increase.

COLUSA WAS OUTYIELDED 6 PERCENT BY TWO EARLIER PEARL VARIETIES

Early maturity was sought to reduce cold-weather blanking and rain losses. Consistent performance of the two pearls is being tested.

HYBRID RICE IS STILL UNDER STUDY
